Laura Joy // Jessica Rabbit Cosplay

Do you remember Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Of course you do.. Then you’re going to fall completely in love with this Jessica Rabbit Cosplay done by Laura Joy with the help of Chicago makeup artist Gabbie Johnson.

Laura Joy // Jessica Rabbit Cosplay

It’s the height of the Jazz era. You walk into a dimly lit lounge and there you see her. The Jessica Rabbit herself.. Well, not exactly… Close enough! You’ve seen Laura here on JDP before! She was Poison Ivy for the SKGxJDP boudoir. Well, now she’s back and reclaiming one of her most timeless cosplays. She’s Jessica Rabbit.

Don’t be Shy, Get A little Closer..

The makeup by Gabbie is done absolutely impeccable. Jessica Rabbit has always been a glamorous cartoon woman for me. Laura did not come to play with us with this one either.. She may be cosplaying but she came to slay our lives with this stunning red dress. She even brought purple gloves to complete the look.

Did you fall completely in love?

I love doing cosplay photoshoots. Some have been on location and completely wild while others have been in the studio and completely glam! Remember that you can book a cosplay photoshoot or literally any photoshoot at any time!

Poison Ivy Cosplay // Laura Joy

Yes, that’s right. A Poison Ivy cosplay. You could say Jasemine Denise Photography has a thing for the Gotham Universe.. and you’d be right. It’s not even just Gotham though. You’ve seen your favorite photographer as Storm, you’ve seen Rose Romanova as Black Canary and now… Laura Joy as not just Poison Ivy… Nah, this is a BOMBSHELL Poison Ivy cosplay.

At this time, Laura was fairly new to the Jasemine Denise Photography model roster.  She was nervous, but she was adventurous coming in the SKGxJDP boudoir session at the very last second, and slaying everyone in her presence’s life. Truly living up to her cosplay as Poison Ivy. Her makeup was an intricate affair created by Gabbie, our lead makeup artist who worked diligently with Laura to create something that was poisonous but very avante garde…

Photographer’s Secret: I was terrified stepping into this session. As a photographer, it’s almost frowned upon for you to admit that. The industry tells you to be confident, kick ass, and don’t show any weakness. Welp. I was scared because I wanted Laura to feel confident and gorgeous because.. Well she is. She took my expectations, shattered them, and created her own mold to break. Five seconds into the session, you couldn’t have every told me that she had just started modeling. No… This was pure talent.

Bombshell: bomb·shell ˈbämˌSHel/ 1.) One who is amazing, stunning or devastating.

Yes, that sounds about right. Amazingly, devastatingly, stunning!

Laura, wearing an overbust and a Tempest Harness from SKG Designs definitely make this session less about the cosplay and more about the concept.

A closeup look at Laura:

Gabbie really took her time with the detail on this. The leaves are literally composed of glitter. This year, I’ll be sharing a lot more photoshoots featuring her makeup, so make sure you follow her on Instagram. Laura’s also modeling the Tempest Harness in red from SKG Designs over her overbust corset.

To see more of Laura’s photoshoots, follow her on Instagram! She’ll be back sooner than you think.

boudoir Photography weddings

V – Bridal Boudoir // Jasemine Denise Photography

One of my models and good friends, V got married recently. The ceremony was small, intimate and beautiful. Before the event, V, a few amazing Queens and myself all got together to celebrate with a sleepover. The next morning, as she was getting ready, V and I shot a bridal boudoir shoot.

V // Bridal Boudoir
Makeup by: Gabbie Johnson

V and I started shooting together around the time she met Ari, her now husband. She told me in the few moments between our shoot that she just knew that was the man she was going to marry. You’ve seen Ari and V here before. They did that super cute boudoir shoot together and everyone simply fell in love with them. Now they’re married forever and I still haven’t stopped squealing.

Picture this.
It’s the morning of V’s wedding. Three girls are buzzing with excitement around her, while I’m chasing them in with the camera. We’re in the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Chicago and truth be told, V is a bit nervous. She’s not nervous about getting married. She knew that was happening. She’s nervous because she wants this to go perfect. I’m a little nervous. I chew on my lip as I step forward, camera clenched in my fingers as I say.. “Hey, Vee. You wanna take your bridal boudoir photos?”

She looks at me then and my heart stops a little. To my surprise, she smiles and says, “Yassss!” before waving her hands back and forth. Gabbie had just done her makeup, her veil is hanging loosely off of her gorgeous fresh buzz and she’s positively glowing.

I’m glad she said yes. I want to document every moment of this.

V is wearing lingerie from What Katie Didand had nothing but kind words to say about how well her lingerie fit her.

Mini Session Monday: Queen Of Hearts – Nina

I know, I know! Halloween is over but I couldn’t resist showing you off this amazing Queen Of Hearts look collaborated by Chicago model Nina and makeup artist Gabbie Johnson. Both Queens are amazingly talented and I feel like you’d be missing out if you weren’t given the opportunity to see what they cooked up this Halloween!

Queen Of Hearts // Nina
Makeup by Gabbie Johnson

I couldn’t stand the person inside me,
I turned all the mirrors around..

I‘m bigger than my body.
I’m colder than this home.
I’m meaner than my demons,
I’m bigger than these bones.

And the kids cried out;
“Please stop you’re scaring me.”
I can’t help this awful energy.
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me.
Who is in control?

Gabbie and Raymond | Engagement Photoshoot

I’ve had the blessing of knowing Gabbie and Raymond personally. They have that type of relationship that I’ve always felt was one to look up to. They’ve got a little bit of everything. Playfulness, humor, love, support, and a pinch of tough love. Over the years, I’ve watched them evolve each other and themselves.

The thing that I really love about Gabbie and Raymond is that neither of them assumed the ‘house spouse’ role. They both go to work, they both take each other on romantic dates and buy gifts, they both look out each other.  As they move on to the next phase of their life together, they will be doing so as a team. A unit and union created out of pure love and devotion to each other’s happiness.

I couldn’t be more proud of them. Seriously.

This time next year, Gabbie and Raymond will be married. Will you?

Super Orange Sunday // Noodlez

Happy Super Orange Sunday! If you haven’t heard of the amazing company Super Orange, based out of Portland Oregon, you’re missing out! If you haven’t checked out Noodlez and her amazing shoots here at JDP, you’re missing out twice. Today I’m here to put you in the know!

Super Orange Sunday // Noodlez

About Noodlez

It’s almost painful how beautiful Noodlez is. While she’s done some of the darkest, craziest shoots yet to be released here at JDP, there’s a side to her that is supremely sweet. So sweet in fact that she became a brand ambassador for Sweet Bitz Apparel shortly after becoming signed with JDP but before that, she was one of the models who were featured in the first Super Orange lookbook!

About Super Orange Co

You’ve seen Super Orange here on the blog before. The super cute apparel has been in a boudoir and on your favorite photographer the moment I announced that we made it into the lookbook. It was a proud day, only coming second best to the day I met the owner of Super Orange himself, Zee. Zee is one amazing guy. Everything he gushes about between the company Instagram and Twitter are tenfold face to face. Good energy. He really makes believe in the brand.

I’ve only ever had one complaint about Super Orange…
The apparel is too cute. TOO CUTE.
This isn’t a joke.

Super Orange differs from other clothing companies because the clothing is printed by the man himself. Every single release is limited and when it’s gone, god it’s gone. The company’s Instagram graciously keeps us eager with timed releases and the getting is always quick. Can you blame them?

What do you think? Was this shoot TOO sweet?

Don’t forget to follow Super Orange Co on Instagram for releases to the shop, and Super Orange Army for all the cute models rocking their gear. Also, follow Noodlez on Facebook and Instagram to see more of her shoots. Lastly, don’t forget to subscribe to the blog to get photoshoots to your inbox the moment they drop!

Till next time

boudoir Couples Photography

Mr. And Mrs. Neko // Chicago Boudoir Photographer

My favorite part of being a Chicago boudoir photographer is that I encounter a lot of different boudoir sessions. I meet people who want boudoir shoots for confidence, for expression, for their lover, and with their lover. I don’t get to do too many couple’s boudoir shoots but when I do, they tend to go a long way. I love getting to see different people bring a different message to the art… Something in the way their body moves or their eyes stare makes every single boudoir session just a little bit different.

This particular session is one that I hold very dear to me. So many people are afraid to admit that their sexual lifestyle liberates them. There are many different forms of liberation. This particular session focuses on the consent of a woman to be constrained or controlled. Disclaimer: The themes discussed in this article are unsuitable for anyone under 18. Read at your own risk.

When a man speaks to you,
how does he speak to you?
Does he speak with his eyes?
Does he speak with his lips?

When he touches you,
does he touch you with his hands?
or does he touch you with his soul?

When he looks into your eyes..
Is he looking at you?
Or is he looking through you?
Does he see you for all that you are
Does he see you for all that you’re worth?

Honey,
What if I told you that you could have both? Have you ever been liberated by the feeling that you are in control of the way that you are controlled. Your mother taught you to be strong, your father taught you to submit, but you felt as though you could find comfort in both?

How many times have your friends told you that taking a walk on the dark side was wrong? How many times have you felt bound by your lifestyle until the moment you fell into his arms, and heard his voice? Not all darkness is binding and not all bindings are prison. Sometimes, there is balance in releasing inhibitions and giving into something you can’t dare explain.

A woman is a powerful and beautiful creature. She can do many things from create life to escape death.. She is the overcomer of oppression and the bringer of joy. When a woman yields her power to a man, she is not a prisoner. She is a summoner. She brings forth in him his inner King. She is a Queen, and their love is her throne. Next time you are ashamed of the love you share behind closed doors, remember that there is power in liberation.

Kali Neko // + The Team

You’ve seen the amazing Kali Neko here many times before. Most of the time that you’ve seen her, however, she’s been in cosplay. Infamously, she’s been notorious for her Dark Link cosplay which was so much fun to shoot. If you stick around, you’ll get to see some crazy shoots we’ve done together. All you have to do is subscribe to the blog. Additionally, you could follow her on Instagram, pledge your support on Patreon, or like her on Facebook.

Her makeup was done by the amazing Gabbie Johnson.

Brittany and Jake – Valentines Day Photoshoot

Happy Valentine’s Day Week! When Jasemine Denise Photography came into existence, my first clients were Brittany and Jake. Their first session with me was actually around Valentine’s Day, four years ago. I hold the evolution of Brittany and Jacob’s relationship very dear to me because each time it just gets better and better. This session was even better because the fan girl in me couldn’t stop obsessing how they looked like an accidental How To Get Away With Murder cosplay. Can you guess what two characters I shipped in this photoshoot?

Valentine’s Day Photoshoot | Brittany and Jacob

What’d you Think?

Short Session, I know. The love that Brittany and Jake shared never had to be a complicated thing to photograph. You could see every bit of their love in their eyes. For those of you who were sitting here trying to figure out which How To Get Away With Murder characters they were, after much deliberation, we’ve decided that they’re Michaela and Frank.

Do you want a photoshoot with your sweetheart?

I know Valentine’s Day is just about over but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a photoshoot with your partner. You can book your own photoshoot with Jasemine Denise Photography here and if you donate to JDP’s Patreon, you can win a free photoshoot!
