Recess Cosplay // Cosplay Sass + Glitter Goddess

[dropcap]Recess was one of my absolute favorite One Saturday Morning cartoons growing up. When Cosplay Sass and the Glitter Goddess came to me and mentioned a recess cosplay collaboration, I jumped at the opportunity. Convention season is among us! I mean, Anime Central is literally this weekend![/dropcap]

When I was little, the most painfully crazy moment in One Saturday Morning history was finding out that Spinelli’s first name was Ashley. Holy identity crisis! My best friend at the time too was named Ashley and I came into school the next day skeptical. The Ashley I knew was more like Spinelli, a tomboy and a cool girl. I had decided that day that any other Ashley was my sworn enemy.

This recess cosplay is about to show you my inner cartoon nerd.. which as I’ve grown has grown apart from me. (Seriously, the last cartoon I binge watched was The Fairly Odd Parents, and apparently Cosmo and Wanda.. had kids?)

Anyway!

Ashley B // Glitter Goddess

Ashley B, in the cartoon was supposed to be the gossip one who was really into fashion.. Remember when she kicked Ashley A out for not wearing Purple On Purple Day? Bri channelled that vibe perfectly, even though she’s nothing like the character in real life. However, she did come.. carrying “The Rules” of the Ashley Club.

Spoiler Alert: I didn’t know I wasn’t the only one in my friends circle who couldn’t spell Wednesday. Don’t trip, Bri.. That’s how I try to spell it too.

Ashley Spinelli // Cosplay Sass.

The toughest kid on the playground, and honestly the sassiest cosplayer on my cosplay roster, Cosplay Sass truly is Spinelli. They have no problems channeling some of the most evil characters on the silver screen. Yet, as Spinelli.. It’s just perfect.

Spinelli was a badass to me because even though her first name was Ashley, she had no interest in being an Ashley.

Are you looking to be a part of the Ashleys?

We’re gonna do a full version of this recess cosplay after Anime Central and we’re looking for more Ashleys! Drop a comment if you’re down to be a part of the cast of recess! In the meantime, follow Glitter Goddess and Cosplay Sass on Instagram and don’t hesitate to wave them down if you catch them at Acen this year.

Cosplay Mini Sessions Photography

Hatsune Miku Cosplay Test Session// Bri Catherine

As Autumn comes to a close in Chicago, I excitedly reminisce on the season we’ve had. That season includes an adorable Hatsune Miku Cosplay done by Brittany Catherine. If you’ve never heard of Hatsune Miku, you should most definitely check out the game Persona 4 which I’m actually only familiar with because I used to watch my friend Ashley. Hatsune Miku is most widely known as a Vocaloid (which I’m still trying to learn about). She would play it every time she was around me. It was entertaining… almost as entertaining as a real life Brittany prancing around a forrest in her Hatsune Miku Cosplay. Note: This is a test session! It is not meant to be full length!
