ClaustroClothic #27: Alternative Fashion // Jada Pinkett Inspired

You already know what today is! Saturday which is the day this blog always celebrates alternative fashion with another ClaustroClothic. This week, I had a mental Flashback to Magic Mike XXL. Let’s see if you catch the vibe…

ClaustroClothic #26 Alternative Fashion // Jada Pinkett Inspired

I’ve been trying to create a special section of ClaustroClothic that is geared toward business professionals. I wanted to be able to kill the stigma that you’re not allowed to be goth and professional. If you’ve seen any of my “professional outfits”, then you’ve heard this all too many times before. I’d like to point out that I look a bit rugged in this session. It was taken a couple days before my first tooth extraction but when the idea came to me, I just couldn’t sit it out! I had to have it shot!

This look was inspired by

Jada Pinkett Smith was Rome in the movie Magic Mike XXL. There were so many memorable scenes in that movie with her… There was the moment Channing Tatum walked up to her at her mansion, the dance off where she introduces him.. There was that minute she walked up to Amber Heard, and of course my personal favorite… her introduction at the showcase, where she says.. “My Queens, my Queens.”

That character literally exudes power and solidarity. She inspires me… It was easy to visualize her completely while building this outfit. My goal was to channel that power, that confidence, and create that magic.

The bulk of this look..

is from Discovery Clothing. That black and white button down shirt is one of my favorites of all time.
Underneath that, I’m wearing the Selene Harness from the leather collection of SKG Designs paired with the Selene Body Cage Garter belt as well.

Favorite Part of the Outfit:

The hat! Next time my SKG Gear, I wasn’t sure how I was going to complete this outfit. The hat did it. It was a gift given to me by Vixen Domo, a model in Iowa who said when she first saw the hat, she knew that it was so me. It is me. Down to a tee too. It really gives me confidence to know that the moment I put it on my head, I said to myself… This is the look.

What Other Business Professional Looks have I done so far?

Are you into alternative fashion but don’t know what to do? Don’t worry babe! I’ve got more looks cooked up for you and more on the way! <3

ClaustroClothic #33 was inspired by Michaela Pratt, a character from the show How To Get Away With Murder. #37: Is what I wore the day Trump got voted into office. It was the worst day but it was a look. There are many more coming, so if you subscribe to the blog you’ll be able to catch them all as soon as they drop!

ClaustroClothic #28: Business Professional Goth

The most asked question I’ve gotten in my career is how I manage to pull of being a “Professional goth”. It makes me giggle every time. I picture myself in all black, dressed to impress, in a harness… Then it hit me. Can I truly be a business professional goth?

ClaustroClothic #28: Business Professional Goth

Let me start off by saying two things. Number One: I have no idea what your definition of “goth” is. I just picture all black, dark, and kinda angry looking. My only goal here was to combine alternative fashion with business casual to create something intriguing. Number two: I had just dyed my hair with Splat the day I did this photoshoot, so it’s gonna look like I’m bleeding purple out of my skull. You’ve been warned.

The key to this.. Keep it subtle. I started off by getting a blazer. That was the most important part. I had never, up until this point, owned an actual blazer. I got the idea from Ariel, who has so many blazer looks!

Underneath that shrug, I’m definitely wearing my red and black Dita Harness from SKG Designs. (I can’t style an outfit without a little SKG.)

Topped of with my new purple hair (Which is really just a test dye for an upcoming cosplay collab), the dark look just serves live.

Top Harness: Dita // Belt: Lina // Shrug: From Wish //

To top it all off, my favorite.. Iron Fist Heels. These specifically are little devils and they add a little accent to every look. Even if you stripped me off the harnesses, I’d still wear my devils. That’s my way of saying “Hey, I’m professional today but any other day.. Girl. I’ve got a totally different style!” Surprisingly, my shoes are normally the topic of conversation wherever I go, so they’re a great conversation starter at networking events!

What sort of looks do you wanna pull off?
