Sisters | Black Lives Matter >> Jasemine Denise Photography

As black history month comes to a close, most will pretend as though the appreciation of black culture has ended. Many will ignore the struggle, oppression, ruthless hatred, and pain inflicted upon black people. Instead of glorifying our gorgeous black families, couples, and children, we will return to casting shade upon each other as a form of retribution for our own mistakes. With that being said, I saved the best for last. That being said, remember that black lives matter and not just for the month of February.

Black Lives Matter
The Sisters.

I want it to be known that these girls mother has a wise head on her shoulders. I first met her while second shooting her daughters for a fellow photographer Trisha Gallimore. It was amazing watching them become confident in themselves and even better seeing the amount of affection they had for each other. Their mother is a chef who pursued her schooling as well as her career while being a single mother. This woman maintained strength and is continuing to do so each day teaching her daughters to be ladies. Black lives matter.

Naz and Kenzie are two absolutely adorable and well spoken girls who are constantly looking out for each other. Watching them interact with each other was absolutely precious. Naz, the older sister was directing her lovely sister on how to pose for the pictures. See, they were going to this daddy/daughter dance with their grandfather and she just had to make sure that everything was ready. After a while, I stopped posing them and started capturing them in all of their adorableness.
