Passion is not transparent.
There aren’t too many sessions that I get genuinely emotional about but this one is one of them. When I announced my first boudoir session booking ever, Saint was one of the first women to respond. She was eager and being a modeling duo alongside her boyfriend, she wanted to share this first with him. Truthfully, I didn’t know what to expect hosting a Chicago boudoir session. I wanted everyone to feel comfortable. Kage was a bit uneasy and naturally, I suggested backing out immediately. Yet, he said no. He wanted to share this with his girlfriend.
When the two stepped into their boudoir session, I wouldn’t have dreamt of what came out of it. This boudoir session wasn’t shared to show off, but to show you how two people could be so emotionally invested in each other, that their love shared is one of the most honest, rawest, and beautiful things you’ve ever seen. Their passion is alive and thriving with both each other and for each other.
Kage and Saint
Passion is not transparent.
I first met Kage and Saint in a Potbelly’s downtown. My assistant Ray and I were looking for new models to work with. We wanted some jazzy, hip, and different new faces. I’d already interviewed seventeen different models when I’d made contact with them, and we’d only actually began working with one.
From the moment they strolled in, holding hands and dressed in black.. I saw it. I saw passion. It wasn’t just two people really interested in having a new photographer but two people emotionally invested in each other. Saint introduced them both, and told us how it was because of Kevin she was pursuing her modeling dreams. I knew then and there that we shared the same passion. I knew I was going to challenge this couple to the best of my ability to make sure that their passion was evident in the world.
For the first five minutes of being in the room, Saint and Kage talked to one another. I was nervous but soon, I noticed a small smile on Kage’s face. He looked at her and whatever he was saying was clearly very amorous. Eventually, those sweet nothings turned into majestic everything and no further direction was needed.
Look at how gorgeous they are, how invested they are in each other, and how it’s like I’m not even there. Hang on to your hats ladies and gentlemen. It starts getting a little NSFW from this point. Nothing serious, but if you can’t handle lingerie shots– back out!
The beautiful thing about the passion that Kage and Saint share is that it’s equal. King and Queen. She spends at 75% of time promoting his band while he fully supports her modeling career. While she’s up front row at all his shows, he shows up faithfully to her photoshoots at her side, protecting and serving her. It’s beautiful.
What do you think?
They’re absolutely precious right? You can catch outtakes from this session on my photoblog. I wanna give a special thanks to Kage and Saint for allowing me to share their special moment with the world. It means forever more to me that they have that level of comfort to share their first boudoir set with me. You can also check Kage and Saint out on Facebook!
