Ieshia, Jayden & Aaron- Lansing Michigan Family Portrait Session

It is definitely Autumn in Michigan which make Lansing Michigan Family Portraits one of my all time favorites because who was really expecting the sun to set so early? Not I, but the moment the sky began turning this strange shade of orange, it was a no brainer that this would be something beautiful!

Ieshia and I went to high school together when I lived in Michigan and she was the first to express interest when I announced that I was coming up for the weekend. It’s not too often that I travel to Michigan for anything other than a tattoo or someone’s birthday party but when Ieshia mentioned me photographing her gorgeous family, I couldn’t resist. With the recent arrival of the fall season, it was nearly impossible to say no. Then, after meeting little Jayden for the first time, it was settled. Talk about an adorable smile AND he remembered my first name right away. It was perfect. He was even our fearless leader through the expedition of Frances Park.

Aren’t they beautiful? I always love shooting in Lansing but this session pretty much took my breath away because of the sunset and how open and willing Ieshia and Aaron were to actually run and jump just as much as Jayden! So glad I got to share that with them.

Want to know when the next batch of Lansing Michigan Family Portraits will occur?

Fantastic photos! I really love the way you capture their love for each other. The way you shoot your photos really plays up that story.

And just as a quick suggestion, you might want to change the sizes of the main featured photos in your posts to the size you need them to be. Why? It slows down load times significantly.

The deal is browser have to load the entire big photos and then resize it down to fit the size the code tells it to be. So even though your featured images are about 700 px wide, they’re loading the massive 2500+px images. When you upload your photos, instead upload a smaller size that is the biggest size you’ll need on your blog. On top of that, it can help to serve protect your images since they’re smaller and less desirable. (Not a whole lot, but anything helps, right?)

Thank you Kim! I always forget to scale down the featured image. Thank you so much! 😀
