As Autumn comes to a close in Chicago, I excitedly reminisce on the season we’ve had. That season includes an adorable Hatsune Miku Cosplay done by Brittany Catherine. If you’ve never heard of Hatsune Miku, you should most definitely check out the game Persona 4 which I’m actually only familiar with because I used to watch my friend Ashley. Hatsune Miku is most widely known as a Vocaloid (which I’m still trying to learn about). She would play it every time she was around me. It was entertaining… almost as entertaining as a real life Brittany prancing around a forrest in her Hatsune Miku Cosplay. Note: This is a test session! It is not meant to be full length!
Hatsune Miku Cosplay // Brittany Catherine
I’ve known Brittany for a pretty good chunk of my life and the entire time I’ve known her, I’ve noticed that cosplaying has always been a very important part of her life. She was never worried about what people thought or whether she was the best cosplayer for the character or not, she was simply herself and that’s what made it beautiful.
Aside from being wonderful and whimsical, I think Brittany really embodies the character of Hatsune Miku. She’s peppy, she’s excited, and oddly enough… Brittany has some killer dance moves! Yet, I wasn’t able to capture to capture them. Maybe in our winter session.
Bonus: The Glitter Twins
What makes Brittany unique is that.. her and our friend Gabbie have this crazy obsession with glitter. During our adventurous test session, we did what could only be described from Brittany as “hoodrat stuff”. I should’ve known that inviting Gabbie to the shoot meant that there would be glitter involved… lots of glitter.
Bonus: Adventures With Jake
Fun Fact: Jacob and Brittany were actually my first clients. They were the first couple I ever photographed. While anyone who knows Jake sees more than just the beard, we’ve come to learn that he and Brittany are perfect because they’ve always balanced each other out. Jake is a serious yet down to earth type of guy while Brittany is very bubbly but also extremely sensible. Together, they balance each other and the rest of our friend’s circle out.
This is a mini session, and though there aren’t “many” over at JDcom, there are many coming. If you’re into more cosplay make sure you bring your butt back here in two weeks to see a Dark Link cosplay come to life! In the meantime, subscribe to the blog so you don’t miss a beat!
