I love, love, love Ariel, the owner of Adore Beauty And Nails. Ariel is such an incredible queen, beautiful human being, and overall powerhouse of creativity. She’s even started a side non-profit brand that I am just manifesting greatness into. I don’t get to do event photography often but when I do, I enjoy it. The entire party was decorated by a Chicago black owned business called MoCreativeEvents, an incredible one woman business!

Happy 31st Birthday Ariel | Chicago Event Photography
One of my favorite parts of doing event photography is getting to see the decoration. Since this day, I’ve worked with the designer behind this look again and let me tell you.. That is a hustle babe.
I got there early enough to see the creators behind the birthday party go to work, and let me tell you.. I forget how much time and effort goes into these things. Mo set up the party to reflect the actual brand colors of Adore which is such a beautiful color combination.
The Queen Preparing To Step Out
The makeup artist, Keturah, (pronounced couture which I thought was an incredible name) was putting the Queen herself into makeup behind the scenes as well.
By the time the party had started, I was just so happy to be there!
There were so many beautiful and talented women in attendance at this party! It seemed as though every single woman there had a talent, a passion, a vision for themselves and everyone around them. I felt honored to be invited.
I was super excited to see her beautiful son in attendance. I hadn’t seen him since I photographed his first birthday party!
True to Ariel’s fashion, she made sure to promote small business! Mid party, Keturah brought out a ton of shades and everyone there began trying them on! What better way than to decide whether or not you want a pair of shades than
Finally, the Cake..
Everything at the party was on brand, so it’s only fair that cake fit into that regime! This was also the first anniversary of Adore Beauty and Nails, Ariel’s first company.. She’s also starting a non-profit called Nails and Self Esteem, a safe haven for women who have been suffering from domestic abuse. As two abuse survivors, I got a front row seat talk about the mission statement and purpose of Nails & Self esteem. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t move me to tears. It’s such an honor to be doing event photography for someone so talented and so supportive of both her community and women in general!
