ClaustroClothic #13: Midsummer // Alternative Fashion
I’ve got a confession to make.. I’m in love with band tees again. Band tees are a huge thing to me because it’s like wearing your favorite things on your sleeve. I love when people see me in a shirt, and it prompts us to kick up a discussion about it! It’s one of my favorite go to alternative fashion
What inspired this outfit?
The band Midsummer, which I’ve slowly but surely become kinda in love with. If I could pick one track to put everyone onto, it’s definitely Honest. There’s a moment in it, (no musical spoilers) where the song goes from subtle and sultry to something that every single time I hear it, my head just starts slamming. I wanted to create an outfit that spoke the vibe of that track. Subtle with some hardcore edge.
How I felt when I put it on.
I was nervous about how I was gonna style this. I didn’t want it to be basic. So, I started with the hair.. putting on my Weave N Luxury silver bob, and working my way down. I don’t typically do short wigs, but Rayshone really outdid herself with this one. Underneath the MidSummer band tee, I’m wearing a Mesh corset from Honey Birdette that includes garter clips. The clips are attached to the Deviant Waist belt from SKG Designs (You saw this entire outfit in ClaustroClothic #17)
What topped it off?
The skirt. The skirt was the second best addition to the outfit other than the Midsummer band tee itself. The skirt from Love Too True was a big goal of mine. I first saw the skirt on DollsKill before and was super stokd to see that the brand had it’s own store.. However, the skirt was sold out.. I watched that site like a hawk and when it came back into stock.. It was perfect!
What’d you think? Don’t forget to listen to MidSummer!
Honorable Mention Outfit:
I almost made a full outfit shoot for this incredible artist ModSun. In case you don’t know, I did a pretty risky outfit combination for the Mod Sun concert I attended right before lockdown began.
I love, love, love styling my merch into outfits!! Do you love alternative fashion? Make sure you check back because I’ll be styling more outfits around my merch soon!
