Everybody has a least favorite color. You know, the one you see that makes you kinda puke when you look at it for too long? Okay okay. Maybe it’s not that bad. My least favorite color is probably going to shock you but I just can’t help it… It’s.. dun, dun, dun… Yellow. Yet, this summer is all about breaking out of the color palette for me, right? So I decided… I’m gonna take a chance on my least favorite color and you should too! What do you have to lose… Besides your breakfast? Let’s call it… Least favorite color fashion. Why would you do this? Because, you’re bad ass and don’t forget I said so!
ClaustroClothic #49: Least Favorite Color Fashion
What Inspired This Outfit?
Kate White says in her book I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This that when we’re exploring, us women should “Look for moments when you feel your curiosity stir.” Least favorite color fashion was built off of that premise. I went exploring my wardrobe and thought to myself, “hmmm. How to step a little further out of my box but keep my style?”
How I felt when I put it on
Sometimes you put something on and it doesn’t just pop right away.
This took a lot of shifting in order for it to appeal to me. I love all my clothes but there’s something about yellow that just makes it really hard for me to like. I originally had on pants but once that high waist skirt got involved, it got easier. Then, the knee highs went in and the rest is just history.
Sometimes you put something on and it doesn’t just pop right away. You have to shift and make some things work.. This was one of those.
What’s the best part of the outfit?
An old friend of mine gifted me with a pair of socks that make me feel amazing when I put them on! They say badass and I swear every time I put them on, the journey they take up my leg makes me feel bad… ass! I love knee highs and the moment I put them on, I started kicking my legs around and jumping up and down.
What was the most expensive piece of the outfit, where did it come from, and how much was it?
The base of almost all of this outfit is thrift store bought. Everything except for the fishnets and the bandanna. The most expensive is probably the shirt and it was literally only five dollars. Bargain right? You don’t always have to pay a lot of money to have nice clothes.
What Kind Of Advice Can I Give To Anyone Trying To Achieve This Look Or Something Similar.
Explore your curiosity. Do something new with yourself. The whole reason I started ClaustroClothic is to give other women a chance to feel like it’s okay to be different. Dare to do new things.
