Mini Sessions Photography The Photographer

Jasemine Denise // All Plaid Everything

Happy Monday, Kings and Queens! Plaid is my favorite… Like unnecessarily. Specifically Tartan plaid. You’ve seen me in plaid at least a thousand times (My favorite being ClaustroClothic #32) So you know I had to do an entire shoot themed around it. I’d like to give a special thanks to Rayshone over at Weave N Luxury. This wig has seen me through the best and the worst. Love, love, love it!

Mini Session Monday // Santiago – Robin Hood

Robin Hood, you remember him. Robbing from the rich and giving to the poor. He was my favorite growing up… Here’s where it gets confusing. When I was younger, I thought Robin Hood and Peter Pan were the same person. To me, if Robin Hood and Peter Pan were the same person, then clearly I was a lost boy because I am Rufio. Plot Twist: Now, if I’m Rufio.. Then Santiago is Peter Pan.. (Robin Hood, whatever)

Robin Hood // Santiago

Have you ever wondered what’s underneath the hood?

Wonder no more.

Wanna see more of Robin, outside the hood?

This is your first look at Santiago, but far from his first session with me. Follow him on Instagram to see more of his photoshoots. Also, he will be making a smoldering appearance on the JDP Patreon alongside Iowa Model Vixen Domo.

Pledge a $1 to catch the behind the scenes photos from the session!

Stay tuned, because there are so much more photoshoots dropping this week!

SKG Designs Sunday // Punk Princess

I shoot so much SKG Designs, it’s safe to say the secret’s out. If you don’t follow Shop Kinky Girly on Instagram or Twitter, then you may not know that we’re business soulmates. What does that mean? It means that if you own some SKG Designs, you can get a photoshoot in it any time.. for free. A free mini session, as long as I’m in your city when the moment happens. That also means that I have a lot of SKG Designs lookbook photos that you just need to see. So, every other Sunday.. I’m gonna show you some awesome ways to style the gear created by my models and other customers of SKG!

SKG Designs Sunday // Punk Princess

This look was first published on SKG Designs, and I felt it needed another share. If you’re into Ru Paul’s Drag Race, prepare yourselves… There’s an easter egg in this. You may remember Vickie but she’s been modeling with Jasemine Denise Photography over a year now. We even shot her wedding boudoir last October. It’s safe to say she’s definitely my style crush and it carries straight over to SKG!

Let’s talk about the back of that jacket shall we?

I’m a sucker for punk looking things but I’m an even bigger sucker for things that make a statement.

Vickie, a gal after my own heart, DIY’ed this jacket together.

Look at the fuzzy little details!

What’s just as awesome is that she paired some amazing SKG Designs gear with this look!

Get The Look // SKG Designs

Aside from getting entered in awesome SKG Designs giveaways, you can get a discount on your first order by using Vickie’s code ‘Vickie’ at SKG Designs for a discount. She’s wearing the Lilith Chain Collar and the Fiona Belt, both from the leather collection of SKG.

Brooce // Queen of The Wasteland // Fantasy Photography

Fantasy Photography? Definitely something I’m excited to get more into in the coming of the year 2018. My models are constantly serving these otherworldly looks and I’m just now coming to grips with the fact that every single look they serve is literally.. out of this world. You’ve seen Brooce here before. Last time she was Heaven in Hiding. This time, she brings something a little… Grittier to the table. This photoshoot is a part of the Warrior Series

Queen Of the Wasteland // Brooce
Fantasy Photography // Jasemine Denise Photography

We are billions of beautiful hearts
And you sold us down the river too far

We’ve survived the apocalypse. It’s 2018. We’ve all become warriors. People are still choosing their leaders. Our gear was forged by SKG. It’s how we identify one another.
Brooce is a leader who is recognized as something different. Once upon a time, she was a Princess… An angel… One of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet.
Over time, she became hardened, reckless, a fighter.

The Priscilla Clan // Princess, Fairies, and Elven Warriors:

Were you once a Princess? Were you hidden deep in the forest when the sky glossed over.. or were you somewhere discovering the beauty of outer space? No matter where you were when the moment hit, if you are a dreamer and still have hope in your eyes.. you may still have a chance to be picked up by the Priscilla clan, and graced with the presence of the Fairy Queen herself. She is still kind, she still shows mercy, and she’s giving.

Wanna see more of Brooce?

This is just a mini session!
Fret not though. you can see more of Brooce in literally two days. I’ll tell ya how!

It is Brooce’s goal this year to create more daring and bold work.

To celebrate that very fact, Jasemine Denise Photography is releasing an NSFW set to our Patreon featuring the gorgeous art created by Brooce, featuring her beautiful body. The official set will be available Sunday at 3pm central time for Pledgers $5 and up so pledge to receive access to the set.

Follow Brooce on Instagram for more updates and don’t forget that you can purchase the Limited Edition Priscilla Harness in black or white for a limited time with SKG Designs! You can even use Brooce’s code “Br00c3″ and get a nice little discount on your order! Don’t miss out!

Poison Ivy Cosplay // Laura Joy

Yes, that’s right. A Poison Ivy cosplay. You could say Jasemine Denise Photography has a thing for the Gotham Universe.. and you’d be right. It’s not even just Gotham though. You’ve seen your favorite photographer as Storm, you’ve seen Rose Romanova as Black Canary and now… Laura Joy as not just Poison Ivy… Nah, this is a BOMBSHELL Poison Ivy cosplay.

Bombshell Poison Ivy Cosplay
Harness from SKG Designs // Makeup by: MUAGDJ

At this time, Laura was fairly new to the Jasemine Denise Photography model roster.  She was nervous, but she was adventurous coming in the SKGxJDP boudoir session at the very last second, and slaying everyone in her presence’s life. Truly living up to her cosplay as Poison Ivy. Her makeup was an intricate affair created by Gabbie, our lead makeup artist who worked diligently with Laura to create something that was poisonous but very avante garde…

Photographer’s Secret: I was terrified stepping into this session. As a photographer, it’s almost frowned upon for you to admit that. The industry tells you to be confident, kick ass, and don’t show any weakness. Welp. I was scared because I wanted Laura to feel confident and gorgeous because.. Well she is. She took my expectations, shattered them, and created her own mold to break. Five seconds into the session, you couldn’t have every told me that she had just started modeling. No… This was pure talent.

Bombshell: bomb·shell ˈbämˌSHel/ 1.) One who is amazing, stunning or devastating.

Yes, that sounds about right. Amazingly, devastatingly, stunning!

Laura, wearing an overbust and a Tempest Harness from SKG Designs definitely make this session less about the cosplay and more about the concept.

A closeup look at Laura:

Gabbie really took her time with the detail on this. The leaves are literally composed of glitter. This year, I’ll be sharing a lot more photoshoots featuring her makeup, so make sure you follow her on Instagram. Laura’s also modeling the Tempest Harness in red from SKG Designs over her overbust corset.

To see more of Laura’s photoshoots, follow her on Instagram! She’ll be back sooner than you think.

Kali Neko // Christmas Pinup

Merry Christmas! Let me start of by saying that I’ve been dying to do more pinup style shoots. Looking at models like Ophelia Overdose really motivate me to wanna bring my girls kicking and screaming into more complex shoots. Plot Twist: They won’t be kicking and screaming. They’ll be giggling and screaming “Yasss!” at the top of their lungs. Trust me. Anyway, trying to get more into the holiday spirit, Kali and I did a Christmas pinup shoot. I’m considering this practice because coming into the new year, you’re going to see a lot more of this. You ready?

Kali Neko // Christmas Pinup Session

This Christmas pinup session is special. Most people know Kali for her cosplays. Truth be told, when I met Kali, that’s probably the only thing I knew about her. I didn’t know she did pinup modeling for cosplay companies like My Geek Goddess and Pixel Vixens. I didn’t know she had the capability of being a brand ambassador beyond your wildest dreams. What I really didn’t know is that Kali was born a human with nothing but kitten tendencies. Even as we shot this very session, she was fiddling with the makeshift candy cane we built, using her french tip nails to peel at the ribbon stapled to the tube. Watching it from afar, it was cute.

How to Turn A Kitten into a Candy Cane:

Christmas pinup shoots, or shoots that have a theme aren’t easy. There’s a lot of plotting. This look started with the release of the Elysia Harness from SKG Designs. It’s the first design SKG has released that has involved leg wraps, coming in quite a few colors. From there, Kali.. being a kitten brought together the ears and tail and suddenly.. The look was born.

Bonus: Can’t get enough of this Christmas pinup?

We know.

Us neither. We’ve got good news though. If you pledge to our Patreon, you’ll get exclusive access to bonus parts of this set.

Model Monday: Keeley Shoup // Gryffindor House

I‘m sure you remember me asking you a while back which Harry Potter House are you? Slowly but surely my models have been asking themselves the same questions. For the longest we had no one for the Gryffindor House, but then along came one of our newest models, Keeley and that all changed! Watch her channel her inner Hermione Granger in this debut set of hers, the Gryffindor House.

Keeley Shoup // Gryffindor House

Gryffindor

Okay, don’t fight me…
I fell off of Harry Potter after the third or fourth book. I won’t lie, Chamber Of Secrets was the first full length book I’d ever read. It had me hooked. I was obsessed with Hermione. She was smart, she was ambitious, and she was the leader of the pack among two boys who had no clue what they were doing. Goals.

When Keeley came to me and said she wanted to do a Hermione cosplay, I felt the young girl in me squeal extremely loud. A lot of the cosplays that I’ve gotten to shoot (Punk Storm, Jack Skellington, Sailor Moon..) have been things that connected back to my younger days and it’s part of the reason I love doing cosplay themed photoshoots so much. Enough about me though…

Why The Gryffindor House?

Gryffindor is daring, full of nerve and chivalrous.

Are you a Gryffindor?

The wonderful and amazing Keeley Shoup has a special edition of this, in the common rooms coming to her Patreon account! Pledge and show your support for a fellow Hogwarts House! Keeley is officially a Jasemine Denise Photography model so you’ll be seeing quite a bit more of her in the coming year! Have an idea of what you want to see Keeley cosplay? Slide over to her Instagram where she casts polls, showcases closet cosplays and much more!

Oh, Wait! Don’t Forget!

V – Bridal Boudoir // Jasemine Denise Photography

One of my models and good friends, V got married recently. The ceremony was small, intimate and beautiful. Before the event, V, a few amazing Queens and myself all got together to celebrate with a sleepover. The next morning, as she was getting ready, V and I shot a bridal boudoir shoot.

V // Bridal Boudoir
Makeup by: Gabbie Johnson

V and I started shooting together around the time she met Ari, her now husband. She told me in the few moments between our shoot that she just knew that was the man she was going to marry. You’ve seen Ari and V here before. They did that super cute boudoir shoot together and everyone simply fell in love with them. Now they’re married forever and I still haven’t stopped squealing.

Picture this.
It’s the morning of V’s wedding. Three girls are buzzing with excitement around her, while I’m chasing them in with the camera. We’re in the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Chicago and truth be told, V is a bit nervous. She’s not nervous about getting married. She knew that was happening. She’s nervous because she wants this to go perfect. I’m a little nervous. I chew on my lip as I step forward, camera clenched in my fingers as I say.. “Hey, Vee. You wanna take your bridal boudoir photos?”

She looks at me then and my heart stops a little. To my surprise, she smiles and says, “Yassss!” before waving her hands back and forth. Gabbie had just done her makeup, her veil is hanging loosely off of her gorgeous fresh buzz and she’s positively glowing.

I’m glad she said yes. I want to document every moment of this.

V is wearing lingerie from What Katie Didand had nothing but kind words to say about how well her lingerie fit her.

Mini Session Monday: Queen Of Hearts – Nina

I know, I know! Halloween is over but I couldn’t resist showing you off this amazing Queen Of Hearts look collaborated by Chicago model Nina and makeup artist Gabbie Johnson. Both Queens are amazingly talented and I feel like you’d be missing out if you weren’t given the opportunity to see what they cooked up this Halloween!

Queen Of Hearts // Nina
Makeup by Gabbie Johnson

I couldn’t stand the person inside me,
I turned all the mirrors around..

I‘m bigger than my body.
I’m colder than this home.
I’m meaner than my demons,
I’m bigger than these bones.

And the kids cried out;
“Please stop you’re scaring me.”
I can’t help this awful energy.
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me.
Who is in control?

Queen Of Hearts - Makeup by Gabbie Johnson

ClaustroClothic #30: The Echelon Girl

If you haven’t noticed from ClaustroClothics pastI’m a huge fan of things. When I like something, I love it. I will rep it on my back. I will wear it. Hell, I may even tattoo it. My descent into the Echelon was quick and virtually painless. My first Thirty Seconds To Mars song was Hurricane, but the one that changed my life had to have been Alibi. The band itself is amazing. Shannon Leto? Gorgeous. But the fandom… The fandom is what sold me. This ClaustroClothic #30 is inspired by the Echelon, yes… The Thirty Seconds To Mars fanbase.

ClaustroClothic #30: The Echelon
Thirty Seconds To Mars Inspired Outfit.

I’m not typically a jeans and t-shirt type of gal. Hell, I think I own maybe two pair of jeans and they both have holes in them. This particular pair I’m rocking in this session was given to me by Cosplay Sass, and while I’m not exactly sure why… I fell in love with them.

What inspired this outfit?

I’m in love with this damn shirt. When I first laid eyes on it, it was before I got my hair done by Weave N Luxury over in Ohio. I mean, my natural hair was red and black but it wasn’t the same color as the damn shirt. When I got into the Echelon, I fell in love with the family in the fandom. Anytime something hits home like that for me, I’ve gotta get some merch. My think is that band shirts are like smoke signals. You’re out in public and you’re walking around… Suddenly, someone far away spots that Triad and now you’ve got a friend in the fandom. The same applies to the internet. Honestly, if anyone stops me on the street and goes “Hey, are you a Thirty Seconds To Mars fan?” I’m gonna stop.. I’m gonna talk to them. I’m gonna ask them which track is their favorite… I’m probably gonna take them out for dinner.

What’s the best part of this outfit?

I’m a sucker for color coordination. Everything in this entire outfit just screams me. You almost can’t miss me walking down the street. I also love that even though the outfit is kinda “dressed down”, it screams, “Hey… I’m here.” How many people do you know are walking around with so much of two colors on their body just to go to the grocery store. (Though, I’m pretty sure I went somewhere else in this outfit. Can’t remember. Maybe coffee.)

The Outfit Breakdown // The Details

The Snapback

The first thing I ever bought from the Mars Store being very very new to The Echelon was this hat. Make America Rock Again. I felt like it made a huge statement and while I’m sure I could’ve found it anywhere else, a band who really made every damn music video/track a huge event seemed like a fitting. I think the one thing I was petrified about was obviously it’s a joke about Donald Trump’s “make America great again.” The first time I wore it, people kept staring at me funny. Eventually I started going “read it again.”

The Collar // SKG Designs

The Fiona collar again?! Hell yes, you may recognize this one from my updated back to school look, but it just goes with my leather jacket perfectly. I’m secretly dying to learn how many ways I can put SKG Designs gear into different looks. I can already hear all of you in my head going “Pfft. Like that’s anything new.” but seriously, it was really hard to build a casual look without throwing in a harness or a leg garter. This was just so casual… Then I looked at the collar and went… “There’s never a day where I can’t rock a little SKG.”

The Hair // Weave N Luxury

I promise this was a coincidence! I had an appointment with the amazing hair scientist and boss babe, Rayshone months before I ordered this shirt. The woman is a wizard with the hair and yes, before you even ask.. This is a custom wig order. She does take long distance orders so you should’ve even hesitate!

That’s it… But I can’t leave this blog post without an open letter to the Echelon.

Dear Echelon Family.

I’m proud to wear this fandom on my back. When I first got into Thirty Seconds To Mars, I never dreamt of the type of family I’d find backing a band. If Alibi changed my life and Artifact altered it, you Queens saved it. I have never felt so accepted by a group of talented, amazing, creative people. Thirty Seconds To Mars spoke to me the way Guns N’ Roses did. The pain and agony behind the business model that was that band is my drive and inspiration. Duff McKagan literally wrote a book that changed my life.  Our bond goes beyond (Dare I say it) the bond I had with the Eminem fandom, and that’s where I got my start on Tumblr. That was my first tattoo too.  Growing up with a mental illness, becoming deeply engrossed in things was how I learned to cope with everything that was going on around me. I wrote my first fan fiction with my cousin when I was about 9 years old in a broken home to nothing but music to be our guides. I never dreamt all those years ago that I’d find a group of people who would be reading my writing and getting to know me because of it and through it. I carry this fandom with me not because I feel like I have to but because I want to. God, I want to see each and every one of you succeed because the music taught us to. Jared, Shannon and Tomo motivated us to. Because it’s your destiny to fight and to keep fighting because that’s the type of warriors you were all built to be. I’m honored to be a part The Echelon, the fandom for a band that became a family for me.

Do you have a favorite band? Are you a part of a fandom?

Share your fandom stories with me in the comments! I know I’m not the only fan girl out there! Share! Tell me stories!
Until next time, you can see all my crazy daily outfits on Instagram!
