Brianna – Punk Fashion Model – JDP

If you know me by now, you know there are two things this blog focuses on. Fashion and photography. I’m a sucker for punk fashion, I’m a sucker for photography and I’m absolutely slain by the vision of those two combining. Today’s blog is special because not only did you get to see some amazing punk fashion, you get to see a stunning aspiring model showing it off.

By the way, Happy SKG Sunday! This is definitely a part of the SKG Archives. This photoshoot was featured on SKG’s lookbook first.

Brianna // Punk Fashion
Jasemine Denise Photography

I’m a really big believer in manifestation. That being said, Brianna is gonna be big. This is her first shoot with me, but already.. I could see it in her eyes. The passion for fashion, the uniqueness in her look.. The future was in her step.

Briana’s current passion is esthetician and skincare. On her Instagram she showcases a lot of her own makeup looks and.. I have to say, the contrast in her eyeshadow to the rest of her outfit was amazing. (This is coming from someone who knows nothing about makeup.. So cosign with me on this one!)

My favorite thing about Brianna is the same thing I love about Bianca, another model I started working with this summer… That smile. Even if you’re a “real” punk rock model, your personality shines through quite bright.

It gets better…

Wait, Don’t you Wanna Get The Look?

Want that collar around Brianna’s neck? I got you covered! You can purchase it right here. Seriously, click the button and it’ll send you directly to SKG’s check out!

Until next SKG Sunday,

ClaustroClothic #25: Teal // Chicago Fashion

Alright, since no one else is gonna say it.. I will. Did we even get a spring this year? It’s June and I’m still waiting on the weather to give me some rain to do Chicago fashion photoshoots in. It’s June. Anyway, I asked because this ClaustroClothic was supposed to be a look for the spring.. I had a shoot for it and everything.. Yet spring never came. Call that Chicago fashion.

ClaustroClothic #25: Teal

What inspired this look?

So much has changed since my last ClaustroClothic. I moved house, I fell in love,  Liberation by Christina Aguilera came out, I gained two new business partners and I changed my hair.. I had never dared to venture into pink.. Yet, this transition called for something new.. Something vibrant.. Something fresh. The blooming of all these things in my life called for a splash of color in my life.

Why Label This Look Chicago Fashion specifically?

Growing up on the south side of Chicago, I always thought Chicago fashion.. at least in the streets was about coordinating. A lot of people on the south side spent time in the store matching their fitted to their shoes to their shirt.

That was Chicago fashion to me. I didn’t go to Chicago Fashion week, I didn’t spend time in fashion school.. I just looked at what was around me. It was all about coordination. So when I got older.. I knew that’s what I wanted to take away from my city as far as fashion.. I wanted to be coordinated.

Top to bottom, everything has to match!

What’s your favorite part of this outfit?

*pulls out foghorn* Let. Me. Tell. You!

Teal is life, teal is love, teal is the last color Shop Kinky Girly released before the owner blew my mind with a brand new vegan collection. Some say mint, some say teal, whatever it is, I’m wearing it!

This one in particular is the Valentina Harness. I love it because it has so many different adjustable straps, kinda like the Dita but a little more subtle. The neck strap sold me. It’s like wearing a collar and a harness at the same time.

Get yourself one.

Well, that’s it!

Stay tuned. I’ll be serving a pink look next that I can’t wait for you to see. In the meantime, follow me on Instagram to see outfits I put together daily.

ClaustroClothic #26: Full Body Harness Fashion

So, it has been my dream since a kid to have a full body harness outfit that made me look like a punk Stevie Nicks… Okay, maybe not since a kid but you know what I mean! I was really excited for the latest collection of SKG gear because it included an all red full body harness. (Yes, in case you haven’t heard… SKG now features red leather in addition to black.)

This post is part of the cute SKG Designs archive, filled with photos from shoots I’ve done both in front of the camera and behind it with the amazing brand and brand ambassadorsDisclaimer: I don’t get paid to wear SKG, or tell ya about it. I do however have a discount code, JasemineDenise that you can use any time you want… You know, in case you wanna get a full body harness of your own!

ClaustroClothic #29: Full Body Harness Fashion

The weather is finally breaking in Chicago, but it’s not quite warm enough in Chicago and I’m not gonna lie, every time it gets cold… I start to get nervous. What will I wear? Will I still be able to pull off cute looks while it’s cold out? How will I wear the Mara Leather Full body Harness I have just been itching to put on my body? Seriously, I asked myself that question when the Warrior collection released and I got my hands on an Isabel skirt. I was like… “Hmm. How can I wear this?” Turns out, I just had to dress for the weather, which at the time was the summer… This.. This is different.

The colder months are hard. It’s al about layers. When I did this shoot, it was about… I’d say forty degrees and I wasn’t cold at all. Beneath the cute kimono fashion shirt, I was wearing a bodysuit that was really thick and some thick knit leggings complete with my red and black boots from Discovery clothing. I wanted to have a certain level of comfort so the shoes were the best touch.

An up close look at the full body harness that pieced this outfit together:

This harness breathes life into me. First off, the top. Detachable from the bottom. That means that you could wear them both separately if you wanted to. When I say that I am beyond impressed, I started screaming. The leather craftsmanship as usual is astonishing. Seriously, whenever I get leather… I’m kinda nervous. I don’t want to pull on a strap too hard and rip it but oh my goddess, it fits and it feels like second skin!

This one also comes with more buckles. That’s how you get me screaming. Double the buckle!!! Even underneath layers, I feel extremely proud and sexy because each time I step, I can feel the leather mold to my thighs.

full body harness from SKG Designs

Also pictured here is the Isabel skirt underneath the harness.

Are you ready for the warm weather?

Say yess!!! I feel like Chicago has been waiting for some warm weather since it snowed non-stop. I’m just ready for the summer! Are you gonna be wearing something daring and bold this summer? Share in the comments! As Miss Frizzle would say, get messy.. Make mistakes, and have fun!

ClaustroClothic #27: Alternative Fashion // Jada Pinkett Inspired

You already know what today is! Saturday which is the day this blog always celebrates alternative fashion with another ClaustroClothic. This week, I had a mental Flashback to Magic Mike XXL. Let’s see if you catch the vibe…

ClaustroClothic #26 Alternative Fashion // Jada Pinkett Inspired

I’ve been trying to create a special section of ClaustroClothic that is geared toward business professionals. I wanted to be able to kill the stigma that you’re not allowed to be goth and professional. If you’ve seen any of my “professional outfits”, then you’ve heard this all too many times before. I’d like to point out that I look a bit rugged in this session. It was taken a couple days before my first tooth extraction but when the idea came to me, I just couldn’t sit it out! I had to have it shot!

This look was inspired by

Jada Pinkett Smith was Rome in the movie Magic Mike XXL. There were so many memorable scenes in that movie with her… There was the moment Channing Tatum walked up to her at her mansion, the dance off where she introduces him.. There was that minute she walked up to Amber Heard, and of course my personal favorite… her introduction at the showcase, where she says.. “My Queens, my Queens.”

That character literally exudes power and solidarity. She inspires me… It was easy to visualize her completely while building this outfit. My goal was to channel that power, that confidence, and create that magic.

The bulk of this look..

is from Discovery Clothing. That black and white button down shirt is one of my favorites of all time.
Underneath that, I’m wearing the Selene Harness from the leather collection of SKG Designs paired with the Selene Body Cage Garter belt as well.

Favorite Part of the Outfit:

The hat! Next time my SKG Gear, I wasn’t sure how I was going to complete this outfit. The hat did it. It was a gift given to me by Vixen Domo, a model in Iowa who said when she first saw the hat, she knew that it was so me. It is me. Down to a tee too. It really gives me confidence to know that the moment I put it on my head, I said to myself… This is the look.

What Other Business Professional Looks have I done so far?

Are you into alternative fashion but don’t know what to do? Don’t worry babe! I’ve got more looks cooked up for you and more on the way! <3

ClaustroClothic #33 was inspired by Michaela Pratt, a character from the show How To Get Away With Murder. #37: Is what I wore the day Trump got voted into office. It was the worst day but it was a look. There are many more coming, so if you subscribe to the blog you’ll be able to catch them all as soon as they drop!

The Weirdest Girl // Killstar – Jasemine Denise

Alright, alright. So I was a little late to the Killstar train, but I literally held out for my first purchase the moment I saw this Weird Girl crop top. I knew at that point that I had to make my first purchase, and figure out an outfit to go with it. I left this look out of the ClaustroClothic archive, because it’s a pretty damn good standalone. Plus, it gives me an excuse to fan girl.

The Weirdest Girl // Killstar

A little stranger.. or a little weirder?

Let me start off by saying that I was the very last one of my friends to jump on the Stranger Things train and I regret every single second wasted. First off, David Harbour? Beautiful. Millie Bobby Brown, protect her. Winona Ryder? FOREVER.

I didn’t start watching till Stranger Things 2 came out. That’s right. I cheated. Yet, immediately after I finished.. I wanted to talk about it. Like everything else I’ve ever become a fan of, it became a part of me. Hence, “weird girl.”

This outfit?

Probably the least weirdest thing I’ve put together this year. It’s simple actually, and if you know me well enough.. you know I don’t do simple.

Probably the most extra part of the outfit? My shoes. Sometimes, I’m an accessory girl. That Lina belt from SKG Designs? Subtle. The Fiona collar (You saw me wearing that when I was rocking the Echelon on my back too!) Chill. The shoes? The shoes are what say.. “Hey listen. I came to be the most weird girl. THE MOST EXTRA. The most me!

What can I say, something on me has to be doing the most?

What about you?

Have you watched Stranger Things and Stranger Things 2 yet? What’s your favorite part? Are you Team Steve like all my girls or are you Team Jonathan like literally only me? Tell me in the comments!

In the meantime, don’t forget to follow my Instagram for my daily fashion looks and subscribe to the blog to see photoshoots the moment they drop!

Stay weird. <3

ClaustroClothic #28: Business Professional Goth

The most asked question I’ve gotten in my career is how I manage to pull of being a “Professional goth”. It makes me giggle every time. I picture myself in all black, dressed to impress, in a harness… Then it hit me. Can I truly be a business professional goth?

ClaustroClothic #28: Business Professional Goth

Let me start off by saying two things. Number One: I have no idea what your definition of “goth” is. I just picture all black, dark, and kinda angry looking. My only goal here was to combine alternative fashion with business casual to create something intriguing. Number two: I had just dyed my hair with Splat the day I did this photoshoot, so it’s gonna look like I’m bleeding purple out of my skull. You’ve been warned.

The key to this.. Keep it subtle. I started off by getting a blazer. That was the most important part. I had never, up until this point, owned an actual blazer. I got the idea from Ariel, who has so many blazer looks!

Underneath that shrug, I’m definitely wearing my red and black Dita Harness from SKG Designs. (I can’t style an outfit without a little SKG.)

Topped of with my new purple hair (Which is really just a test dye for an upcoming cosplay collab), the dark look just serves live.

Top Harness: Dita // Belt: Lina // Shrug: From Wish //

To top it all off, my favorite.. Iron Fist Heels. These specifically are little devils and they add a little accent to every look. Even if you stripped me off the harnesses, I’d still wear my devils. That’s my way of saying “Hey, I’m professional today but any other day.. Girl. I’ve got a totally different style!” Surprisingly, my shoes are normally the topic of conversation wherever I go, so they’re a great conversation starter at networking events!

What sort of looks do you wanna pull off?

This isn’t my first business professional goth look! Check out ClaustroClothic #37 for a more subtle version of the business professional goth look. You can also see my daily fashion by visiting my Instagram page! <3

ClaustroClothic #29: Gals and Roses // Alternative Fashion

Are you a fan of alternative fashion? Remember that ClaustroClothic is a series where you get to see all of my crazy looks, and if it’s been a while like it has this time.. then you can go back through the ClaustroClothic archive and see all of my older looks!

ClaustroClothic #29: Gals and Roses // Alternative Fashion

It’s no secret that I love the band Guns N’ Roses. Hell, I have a whole ClaustroClothic devoted to it. However, for years I pretended as though I didn’t love roses… Rose print. Rose flowers. Rose gold, any of it. As I transition into my late adulthood, I’ve come to learn that if you stop pretending with yourself.. you’ll be able to get more of what you wanted..

What makes this outfit special?

Every bit of this outfit was bought at different times. Alternative fashion for me is never about what you’ve got but what you can put together with what you’ve got. Some of my greatest outfits were formed by accident. The sheer robe was the first purchase. It was bought from Discovery Clothing a little over a year ago. Then came the bralette which is also from Discovery but from a completely different store in a different side of Chicago.

The skirt is the final addition, coming from a secondhand store right around the corner from my house.
It’s insane how I saw it and the rest of the outfit came to life before my eyes.

I knew I had to have my red and black hair, my red corset, my heartshaped shades from Ragstock and a two toned harness from SKG.

It’s like.. When you know, you know.

The Shoes //

Alright, I love love love Iron Fist. I’ve been putting these shoes with so many outfits lately. I don’t even care how many people are like “You wear those shoes all the time!” You damn right I do. They’re comfortable, they’re the type you can get away with in a business professional look. I simply love them.

That’s the look!

ClaustroClothic #30: The Echelon Girl

If you haven’t noticed from ClaustroClothics pastI’m a huge fan of things. When I like something, I love it. I will rep it on my back. I will wear it. Hell, I may even tattoo it. My descent into the Echelon was quick and virtually painless. My first Thirty Seconds To Mars song was Hurricane, but the one that changed my life had to have been Alibi. The band itself is amazing. Shannon Leto? Gorgeous. But the fandom… The fandom is what sold me. This ClaustroClothic #30 is inspired by the Echelon, yes… The Thirty Seconds To Mars fanbase.

ClaustroClothic #30: The Echelon
Thirty Seconds To Mars Inspired Outfit.

I’m not typically a jeans and t-shirt type of gal. Hell, I think I own maybe two pair of jeans and they both have holes in them. This particular pair I’m rocking in this session was given to me by Cosplay Sass, and while I’m not exactly sure why… I fell in love with them.

What inspired this outfit?

I’m in love with this damn shirt. When I first laid eyes on it, it was before I got my hair done by Weave N Luxury over in Ohio. I mean, my natural hair was red and black but it wasn’t the same color as the damn shirt. When I got into the Echelon, I fell in love with the family in the fandom. Anytime something hits home like that for me, I’ve gotta get some merch. My think is that band shirts are like smoke signals. You’re out in public and you’re walking around… Suddenly, someone far away spots that Triad and now you’ve got a friend in the fandom. The same applies to the internet. Honestly, if anyone stops me on the street and goes “Hey, are you a Thirty Seconds To Mars fan?” I’m gonna stop.. I’m gonna talk to them. I’m gonna ask them which track is their favorite… I’m probably gonna take them out for dinner.

What’s the best part of this outfit?

I’m a sucker for color coordination. Everything in this entire outfit just screams me. You almost can’t miss me walking down the street. I also love that even though the outfit is kinda “dressed down”, it screams, “Hey… I’m here.” How many people do you know are walking around with so much of two colors on their body just to go to the grocery store. (Though, I’m pretty sure I went somewhere else in this outfit. Can’t remember. Maybe coffee.)

The Outfit Breakdown // The Details

The Snapback

The first thing I ever bought from the Mars Store being very very new to The Echelon was this hat. Make America Rock Again. I felt like it made a huge statement and while I’m sure I could’ve found it anywhere else, a band who really made every damn music video/track a huge event seemed like a fitting. I think the one thing I was petrified about was obviously it’s a joke about Donald Trump’s “make America great again.” The first time I wore it, people kept staring at me funny. Eventually I started going “read it again.”

The Collar // SKG Designs

The Fiona collar again?! Hell yes, you may recognize this one from my updated back to school look, but it just goes with my leather jacket perfectly. I’m secretly dying to learn how many ways I can put SKG Designs gear into different looks. I can already hear all of you in my head going “Pfft. Like that’s anything new.” but seriously, it was really hard to build a casual look without throwing in a harness or a leg garter. This was just so casual… Then I looked at the collar and went… “There’s never a day where I can’t rock a little SKG.”

The Hair // Weave N Luxury

I promise this was a coincidence! I had an appointment with the amazing hair scientist and boss babe, Rayshone months before I ordered this shirt. The woman is a wizard with the hair and yes, before you even ask.. This is a custom wig order. She does take long distance orders so you should’ve even hesitate!

That’s it… But I can’t leave this blog post without an open letter to the Echelon.

Dear Echelon Family.

I’m proud to wear this fandom on my back. When I first got into Thirty Seconds To Mars, I never dreamt of the type of family I’d find backing a band. If Alibi changed my life and Artifact altered it, you Queens saved it. I have never felt so accepted by a group of talented, amazing, creative people. Thirty Seconds To Mars spoke to me the way Guns N’ Roses did. The pain and agony behind the business model that was that band is my drive and inspiration. Duff McKagan literally wrote a book that changed my life.  Our bond goes beyond (Dare I say it) the bond I had with the Eminem fandom, and that’s where I got my start on Tumblr. That was my first tattoo too.  Growing up with a mental illness, becoming deeply engrossed in things was how I learned to cope with everything that was going on around me. I wrote my first fan fiction with my cousin when I was about 9 years old in a broken home to nothing but music to be our guides. I never dreamt all those years ago that I’d find a group of people who would be reading my writing and getting to know me because of it and through it. I carry this fandom with me not because I feel like I have to but because I want to. God, I want to see each and every one of you succeed because the music taught us to. Jared, Shannon and Tomo motivated us to. Because it’s your destiny to fight and to keep fighting because that’s the type of warriors you were all built to be. I’m honored to be a part The Echelon, the fandom for a band that became a family for me.

Do you have a favorite band? Are you a part of a fandom?

Share your fandom stories with me in the comments! I know I’m not the only fan girl out there! Share! Tell me stories!
Until next time, you can see all my crazy daily outfits on Instagram!

ClaustroClothic #31: Halloween Fashion

It’s October! Can you believe it’s still in the sixties here? I’m trying to whip out all my Halloween fashion looks, including this one in my new fur bomber jacket gifted to me by Keeley and Megan, but… Well goodness, it’s still freaking toasty outside! It didn’t stop me though. I had to serve this look.

ClaustroClothic #31: Halloween Fashion

Everyday is Halloween

I’ve only had a handful of Halloween costumes my whole life. I think that contributes a lot to the style I have. I was Tickle Me Elmo in Kindergarten, complete with a vibrating one piece suit that didn’t run out of batteries. I think I was Esmerelda one year too. By the time I hit my senior year, my entire aesthetic was Halloween fashion. People would walk past me and say “It aint Halloween yet, girl!” and I’d scoff and say “Everyday is Halloween!”

Speaking of Halloween, let’s talk about this headpiece.

Kalika, a model you’ve seen on my Instagram a thousand times, and will see again in just a few weeks is a woman of many talents. She’s a model, she’s a spooky movie enthusiast, and she’s just an all around creative gal.

She made this crown.

Look at the diamond eyes. LOOK AT THE EYES!!! I couldn’t have formed something this creative if my life depended on it, but let’s be honest… I’d probably hot glue my hand to my face by accident if I tried. In case you didn’t know, it takes me forever to craft things.

Underneath that is a ton of my favorite SKG Gear.

I wear my Jasemine harnesses everywhere. Yes, I have two of them, and yes. They are named after me. That’s not bragging. It’s literally the biggest honor ever bestowed upon me because SKG’s leather line… Ugh. HEART EYE. Remember that you can get a discount on your SKG orders anytime by using my code JasemineDenise.

The one I’m rocking on my chest in this outfit, is a custom colored one. Half red leather, half black… because yes. SKG makes red leather options now.

I’m obviously a huge Shop Kinky Girly supporter. I love the way I can style almost every single thing I own with anything. It always seems like there’s an accessory for every outfit. For instance, the Lina collar… Went perfectly with this outfit. All the O rings!!

No outfit would be complete without my boss socks. I had been looking for them for ages and Ray finally found the missing one. Though they don’t exactly match the outfit, they still fit into the fur coat badass woman aesthetic so I threw them in.

Have you been waiting for October to show off your Halloween fashion?

I want to see! Comment this blog post with your favorite Halloween fashion look, your outfit of the days, or pretty much just anything that screams spooky fashion. I love checking out other outfits!

ClaustroClothic #32: Back To School Alternative Fashion

Looking back, I started the fashion portion of this blog back in what would’ve been considered my freshman year of college. I wanted so desperately document how my alternative fashion would be affected by going to college and starting a business. I didn’t think that three years later, I’d be photographing women slaying so many fashion looks, working with designers, etc. Today, I celebrate by doing yet another back to school look.

Flashback to one of my older ClaustroClothic looks.

ClaustroClothic #32: Back To School // Alternative Fashion

Back in September of 2014, I let you know that my back to school looks have never been modest. Stepping out, I always wanted to let my classmates know that I was eclectic and that it’s probably in their best mind to get used to having that 90s goth girl aesthetic in their classroom. It’s also worth noting that my freshman year of high school was spent at an all girl’s catholic school, so I was no stranger to plaid skirts.

Now, present-day, I’ve ditched the plaid skirt and went for a more grown up look.  The plaid is still in there but it’s topped off with a Deviant Harness from SKG Designs and a Fiona Leather collar all underneath my new favorite red leather jacket from Forever 21. Honestly, it’s very seldom I’m trying to do something major with alternative fashion and can’t find some SKG to throw in there.

What Inspired this outfit?

I’ve actually been trying to find a way style that Fiona red leather ever since I saw it on my girl V during a shoot!

V’s look

Mine

I’m also rocking the Dita bottoms because I was definitely not trying to hunt down a pair of stockings. It’s still kinda warm here in Chicago so I felt like I had the chance to show a little leg.

You can’t see them, but I topped the entire look off with an updated pair of boots from my last Back to School look. The ones I have now leave room for thigh high socks which keep my feet warm!

What advice can I give to anyone trying to achieve this look?

Don’t be afraid to be bold! I hear so many women say “I wish I could dress like that but–” There is no but. There’s a time and a place for every single look you can serve. Find an environment to rock your edginess. We only have one life and I don’t wanna spend it looking at clothes on a rack saying “I wish I had the confidence for this.” I’ve sewn clothes down, changed things around, bought things and worked out until I had the body I wanted to wear them… Fashion is a passion. It’s a state of mind. It’s something that calls to you and you deserve to wear it the way you know how! Like I said, there’s a time and a place. Though I wouldn’t have worn this my freshman year of college, I’ll definitely rock this outfit to a party now!

Till next time, what are you wearing?
